COURSE DESCRIPTION

The goal of this course is to introduce undergraduate and graduate students to the fundamental issues and concepts relating to immersive technologies through the analysis of algorithms, case studies and presentations of state-of-the-art systems. Furthermore, the course will provide hands-on experience on the design and development of interactive experiences using the full capacity of state-of-the-art immersive technologies. More specifically the course aims to cover (i) light and optics, human vision and visual perception, (ii) basics of geometric modeling and viewing, and (iii) interaction and navitation in VR|AR|MR

Prerequisites: Good programming skills in C/C++ are required. Knowledge of Unreal Engine is recommended.
